Many students live far from Phnom Penh. They cannot move to the city to learn Mandarin, and a fixed in-person timetable is hard to meet. We use a web learning platform, distance teaching and real people to lower the barriers that place and time create. At set times, a teacher leads practice in speaking, pronunciation and real situations. Teachers teach, give feedback and assess. Staff help students with progress, attendance and whatever is getting in the way.
